My Work
These paintings are just a selection of my work that will give you a feel for my style. Although I have painted many birds, I am always playing with different subject matter and surfaces - i.e. canvas, re-cycled wood, slate, metal or timber panels. What has remained unchanged (at the moment) is painting with acrylics.
Peacock on black
An impressively grand Peacock painted on sheet board using acrylic on a super flat non-reflective base background. It measures 63cm x 92cm.
Lioness
Lions and lionesses are so beautiful they make irresistable subjects. She was painted on board using acrylics. The black background was a super flat non-reflective coating.
Wild Thing. You make my heart sing.
This beautiful, majestic couple are painted on canvas using acrylic. They were an absolute joy to paint for two very special people who have decided that this piece of art is destined to hang above their bed. It measures 120cms X 60cms.
Magpie
Australia voted the magpie as their favourite bird - justifiably so. This character is painted on canvas using acrylic.
Two Emus
These guys are another Australian icon and are particular favourites of mine. They were painted on canvas using acrylics.
Rosie the Cute
This is Rosie - my muse. Always seeking a lap and always loveable. She's been captured on canvas using acrylics.
Highland Cow
I'm originally Scottish, so it would be remiss of me not to include a Scottish icon. Painted on board using acrylics.
Puffin
Puffins are fantastic to paint - their eyes have so much expression. This one was painted on re-cycled Australian hardwood using acrylics.
Mountain Hare
Another favourite - they are such shy and beautiful creatures. Part of a set of 3 in
acrylic.
2 Kookaburras
Yet a couple more beautiful Australian native birds. Acrylic on canvas. Beautiful!
A study in finches.
Australia has some of the most beautiful and rare finches in the world. These are some of them.
Owl on slate
This very old roof tile presented a bit of a challenge, but I enjoyed it. Acrylic on slate.
Akhenaton
Just a bit of fun - but I think Akhenaton looks great on a piece of antique slate.
Owl
All Owls are photogenic. This one was painted on re-cycled Australian hardwood using acrylics.
Ballet Shoes
I've always loved ballet, and these shoes mean a lot to me. They are painted on re-cycled Australian hardwood using acrylic.
Zebra
Elephant in dust.
The Zebra measures 92cms x 63cms and is painted on sheet board using acrylic.
This rather angry elephant measures 92cms x 63cms and is painted on sheet board using acrylic.
Red tailed Cockatoo.
This beautiful bird is painted in acrylic on art board. It is 45cms high by 37cms wide.
